NOTE: There will be no spray to the hose while the Lift-Off Pod is connected to the base

Check for spray at the end of the hose

  • Remove Lift-Off pod from base

  • Fill clean tank with warm water
  • Empty dirty tank
  • Secure both tanks into machine

  • Unwind hose, give a few light tugs to release kinks in internal water line
  • Remove tool if attached
  • Turn machine on, squeeze trigger on hose

  • If hose sprays, skip down to NO SPRAY TO FLOOR
  • If the hose sprays in step above, but doesn’t spray when a tool is attached, then the tool is clogged
    • Clean tool by inserting a paper clip into the spray tip
    • If tool doesn’t clear, it should be replaced

Check clean tank

  • Remove clean tank, check the bottom for any deformities
    • The tank should be flat across the bottom edge (no bumps or curves)
    • It should sit flat on end of counter/table without wobbling
    • If it is not flat, it should be replaced as it won’t fit securing into machine (causing no spray)

  • Confirm that the red gasket is attached to the end of the cap on the bottom of the tank
    • If missing it should be replaced
    • If found in base of machine, it should be removed and reattached to the bottom of the clean tank

  • With water in the clean tank, hold tank (cap side down) over the sink
    • Press upward on the X-valve in the center of the cap
    • If water does not release, the cap & insert should be replaced
    • If water releases from cap, return tank to machine
  • Turn machine on & check for spray from the hose
    • If still no spray to hose, visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us

NO SPRAY TO FLOOR

  • Check the trigger on the handle for tension

  • If the trigger has tension, uninstall handle – remove 4 screws (arrows)

  • Reassemble – align with no visible gaps
    • If no tension in the trigger, the handle should be replaced visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us

  • Clean the solution filter (ON SELECT MODELS)
    • Open the red solution filter cap on the base of the machine by inserting a coin or flathead screwdriver
      • Remove the white filter by lifting by the post
      • Rinse under water to clean

        • Replace the white filter & red cap, turn clockwise to tighten securely

        Clean Spray tips

        • Press on the easy to remove strap tip tabs to lift them out
          • Keep track of which side each tip is removed from, to correctly install back into machine once clean

        • Clean each spray tip with an old toothbrush & warm water
        • Spray tip can be soaked in warm water if extremely clogged
        • Return spray tips to machine, they should “click” into place
        • Return Lift-Off pod to base
        • To make sure pod is secured correctly the heated cleaning light should be on once machine is turned on

        • Turn machine on, lower handle and pull trigger on handle to check for spray
          • If machine does still not spray to floor, visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us

      Check that the bases of the tanks are attached properly. Push down firmly to ensure that you have locked them into place. There shouldn't be a gap between the tanks and the machine. Turn the carpet cleaner back on. Press the trigger to test the spray.
