I'm also sometimes getting a code p1495 - leak detection pump solenoid circuit. I'm not sure wut exactly is wrong, but I'm pretty sure its got something to do with the EVAP system but where do I even begin? Are there any tests to see which problem or part it could be? I don't think its relavant but every now and then I also get the code p1698 -no bus message sent from tcm. By the way I have a 99 jeep Cherokee. 05-26-2012, 02:40 PMSenior Member

What it does is it jumps your RPMs up and trys to hold a vacuum, using the LDP. I haven't done too many Evap system problems yet so much knowledge in that area is limited. There's a Picture of where you LDP is, you might want to check the area make sure the thing isnt all gunked up, all the wires are still there and aren't burnt through 05-26-2012, 07:43 PM

Overfilling the tank, or tipping the vehicle at radical angles with a full tank, can spill liquid fuel into the evap system hoses that connect to the fuel tank. The system is only made to handle vapor, not liquid, so that could be what's causing it to code out. it could also cause enough back-pressure to fool the pump into thinking the tank is full. Why does the gas pump keep stopping when my tank isn't full? There is a reason gas pumps have an annoying habit of shutting off. Gas pump nozzles are designed with a device on the end that turn off the fuel flow when the gasoline runs back into it. This is a safety mechanism which prevents the gas from coming out and spilling when filling up the tank.
How do you put gas in a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee?Locate it under the rear right-hand side trim. Pull the release cable to open the fuel door. Don't let your tank become empty! That's it!
Why won't the gas nozzle go into my gas tank? When you can't get the gas nozzle to fit into your filler neck, there could be a blockage. Check to see if there's some dirt or debris that has been stuck in there that's keeping the nozzle from getting through. You can use a long thin rod to poke on the tube.
