Spider-Man: No Way Home might be out now on digital release worldwide, but you won't be seeing it swing onto Disney+ like most MCU movies. Unlike every other MCU movie (barring The Incredible Hulk), it's Sony – and not Disney or Marvel Studios – which owns the movie rights to Spider-Man. It's why you also can't watch Homecoming or Far From Home on Disney+. Instead, if you want to watch No Way Home, you'll have to buy it for £13.99 from Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and other digital retailers. Sony Pictures Buy Spider-Man: No Way Home on Prime Video In April 2021, Sony did strike a deal with Disney to bring their catalogue, including Spider-Man movies, to Disney+. However, this doesn't come into effect until movies released in 2022 and those Sony movies will only arrive on Disney+ after a first run on Netflix. It means the Spider-Man threequel will first be released on Starz in the US as all other Sony movies have, following its digital and physical home release. The Sony-Disney deal is also currently only a US deal, so we'll have to wait and see what happens in the UK and other markets. Sony Pictures Buy Spider-Man: No Way Home on iTunes While you can't see No Way Home on Disney+, you can catch up with every other MCU movie (minus the Spider-Man movies, The Incredible Hulk and Eternals) on Disney+ right now. That includes fellow Phase 4 movie releases Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals, as well as every TV show to date such as WandaVision, Hawkeye and the upcoming Moon Knight. The streaming deal between Sony and Disney fixes that, but with a big caveat. Sony's films will not hit Disney Plus immediately after their theatrical window closes.
Is SpiderDisney secured a deal with Sony in April to stream some catalog Spider-Man movies as well as Sony movies released in theaters between 2022 and 2026. First of all, those 2022-2026 theatrical releases won't make it onto Disney Plus for many, many months; they'll actually be exclusively on Netflix first.
Why isn't Spiderman no way home on Disney Plus?The main reason for the differences is that Marvel characters on film divvied up between two different studios, Disney-owned Marvel Studios and Sony. Spider-Man, as a character, derives from Marvel, but Disney's Marvel struck a complicated license-sharing deal with Sony for characters from the Spider-Man comics.
