It is possible to eat gluten free at Buffalo Wild Wings, but there are several things you need to keep in mind. Let’s jump right into it!  Gluten Cross contamination ConcernThe first elephant in the room we need to talk about is cross contamination. If you have celiac disease, this is a HUGE concern for you. So keep this in mind. Before you walk into the BWW, you need to understand their stance and how they operate. Their Allergy Guide clearly states “we cannot eliminate the risk of cross-contact or guarantee that any item is free of any allergen and no items are certified gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan“ What does this mean? This means things like fries, wings, onion rings and other breaded items potentially share the same fryer. I originally thought we could not go into BWW and expect to see a dedicated Buffalo Wild Wings fryer; however, as you may see in the comments below, people like Lorin have experienced a dedicated fryer! Now that we got that out there in the open, just be aware they may use the same fryer to cook everything to include their wings. If that’s a concern, you need to ask and confirm. You’re not going to BWW for the salad! Let’s talk Wings! The traditional wings at Buffalo Wild Wings are gluten free, but do keep in mind they are fried in the same oil as I stated above. On their website, they even have a “may contain” label under the wheat section for their traditional wings. Another strong statement they make is “Our Traditional, Boneless and Cauliflower Wings are fried then sauced or seasoned in the same bowls.” There is risk. Use your best judgement and what works for you and your diet. Gluten Free Beer at Buffalo Wild WingsFrom what I have seen so far, there are no gluten free beers, like the ones you find on my beer list, at BWW. BWW does have a good selection of hard ciders such as Angry Orchard, so if that’s you flavor, go for it. They have have a full bar, so you can easily grab a Mojito or some other mixed drink of your choice. Maybe BWW will get the memo one day and start stocking my favorite Aurochs gluten free beer. Gluten Free Dad’s RecommendationAs stated earlier, if cross contamination is on your mind, this would be a no go or at least stay away from any fried food. It is possible to eat gluten free at BWW, but options are limited. BWW does not get my highest recommendation, but it is possible.
