How to turn off your caller id

Caller ID Services - Support Overview

Find all Caller ID Support information here: Use Call Filter to get alerts on incoming spam calls, block numbers, and see incoming caller information. Caller ID displays the number calling you, and Caller ID Block prevents your number from displaying to others when you call.

You can decide to hide your caller identification when calling somebody. This will ensure that the person receiving your call won’t be able to see your phone number and name.

Some network carriers and countries do not allow you to hide your number. If you have followed all the below steps and your number is still showing, you should check with your mobile network if they allow this feature.

Please note: when sending text messages your caller identification will not be hidden. Please also be aware that many smartphones have the functionality to block unknown numbers. If the person you are calling has enabled 'block unknown numbers' on their phone, you will not be able to call them.

Caller ID is great when someone is calling you. You might recognise the number or maybe your new phone is smart enough to recognise it for you.

But sometimes, you don’t want to be recognised when you’re calling someone. So you need to know how to hide caller ID.

How to hide caller ID when dialling from your mobile phone

When you’re getting ready to make a call and you want to turn off caller ID, you can just slightly alter the number you’re calling.

Dial #31# before the number you want to call, and then dial the rest of the number like normal.

For example, if you’re calling the number 0123 456 789 from your mobile phone, you can call them without showing your caller ID by dialling #31#0123 456 789.

Blocking your caller ID is super simple this way, but you do need to know the number you want to dial so that you can type it into the phone. You might want to hide your caller ID completely or automatically block your caller ID so that you can dial any number without having to put in those extra digits.

If you want to turn off your caller ID or if you’re wondering how to turn on no caller ID on your phone, you have to make changes to the phone’s settings.
