Do i need to make an appointment for philippine passport renewal

Passport processing takes 4 – 6 weeks.  As a passport with at least 6 months’ validity is a requirement for international travel, it is advisable that applicants renew their passports early to avoid inconvenience. If there are less than 6 weeks until the date of travel to the Philippines, it may be possible to apply for a Travel Document. 

Applicants will need to book an appointment by following the instructions on the Passport Appointments page.

Basic Requirements

  • Personal appearance of the applicant 
  • Duly completed Passport Application form; Adult Renewal, Adult New, Child Renewal or Child New
    (For children, the form must be completed by either of the Filipino parents or the legal guardian and the child must be brought to the embassy.)
  • Original and photocopy of passport (for renewals) 
  • Cash payment of 54.00 euros (refer to Consular Fees) 
  • Photos are no longer required, it will be taken digitally upon application, but applicants are required to wear the following: 
    • For men: decent shirt with collar 
    • For women: decent attire, with or without collar; no sleeveless shirts, no plunging necklines.
    • Note: DO NOT wear earrings or necklace when applying for a passport.

Additional Requirements

For Minors (Proof of filiation):

  • Photocopy of the data page parent’s passport or any valid identification card, AND
  • Original and photocopy of birth certificate issued by PSA/NSO or Report of Birth or Baptismal Certificate or Baby Book or School Form 137, etc as long as the document indicates the name of the minor applicant and his/her parent(s).
    (Official English translation is required for documents that are not multilingual)

For Permanent Residents in Spain:

  • Original and photocopy of Tarjeta de Residencia

For Dual Citizens (those who have taken their oaths of allegiance under RA 9225):

  • Original and photocopy of Oath of Allegiance, Order of Approval and Identification Certificate

For Seamen:

  • Seaman’s Book
  • Crew list
  • Letter from the master of the vessel / authorized agency

For Newborn Babies (refer to Report of Birth):

For Married Women Who Wish to Use the Surname of their Husband:

Married in Spain:

  • Original and photocopy of Report of Marriage form filed at the Philippine Embassy
  • Original and photocopy of multilingual version of marriage certificate (Certificado Literal de Matrimonio) issued by the Spanish Civil Registry (Registro Civil). If the multilingual version is not available then an official English translation will be required
  • Photocopy of the data pages of the passports of both husband and wife

Married in the Philippines:

  • Original and photocopy of marriage certificate issued by the PSA
  • Photocopy of the data pages of the passports of both husband and wife

Married Abroad (countries other than Spain):

  • Original and photocopy of marriage certificate issued by the PSA
  • Photocopy of the data pages of the passports of both husband and wife

For renewal of Green or MRP passports (non-Epassport):

  • Actual MRP/Green passport
  • PSA – Authentic Birth Certificate
  • At least one (1) valid identification document
  • Other support document as necessary (i.e. PSA MC if married and using married surname, etc.)
