Product: CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance Car Insurance Comment Lori Lee November 11, 2022 • @notary21 1 Star Rating Connect, powered by American Family Insurance is a greedy company. They want to take my money just because my son turns 18 got his license and leaves with me. I said very clearly, HE IS NOT DRIVING MY CAR. But they still want my money. The question is for what? I paid one time for 6 months. The DMV let the insurance know that my son got a license and leaves with me. The insurance added my son to my insurance without my permission and sent me two letters that I should pay additional money for my son or they will cancel my car insurance without returning the rest of my money back. They threatened me. Definitely, I will not stay with them... I seriously hate your business and the people who run it. you shouldn't be using Costcos name in your ad, your company is a disgrace to a good business. We have been on automated payments for years with many vehicles and no tickets or accidents, we asked about changing 1 car and they dropped our policy right away without giving us any options. As we wanted to add another car and continue automatically paying no matter how much it was. The situation is a total joke, where is the cameras, go ahead pull them out, games over! Product: CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance Car Insurance Comment Billy Helios August 18, 2022 • @BillyBoy 1 Star Rating Avoid this company at all cost although Costco keeps pushing it to their members. Their premiums seem to be on average but when you really need them, they fail to come through! My less than 2 year car with fewer than 12000 miles was rear ended and totaled. The car had never been in any accident. The adjuster was so smart he determined that my car had been in prior accidents and deducted $800 in the settlement offer. Not only that, my car has an upgrade convenience pkg worth $1200. The adjuster marked my car as without the package with a big red X in his comparison for present market value chart. I tried to call and email Connect's "Total Loss" Dept to get resolution and did not get any response after repeated emails and phone calls. I have a rental car provision which should provide up to 30 days use of a rental car if my car is disabled. Connect claims that I need to return the rental within 4 day after just 11 days of rental car use because they have made me a cash offer even though I am not in agreement with their offer and trying to talk with someone at Connect to have that resolve. Having an offer does not mean that I can immediately go out and get a replacement vehicle. I still need time to shop around etc. Stay away from Connect. Costco is no doing its members a favor by teaming with subpar companies like Connect. Product: CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance Car Insurance Comment MIKE AYOTTE July 21, 2022 • @Michaelayotte54 1 Star Rating These jokers raise your auto rates if you don’t drive enough. They raise your homeowners to “share the cost” of other claims from other policy holders for hail and wind damage, when I had smoke and ash cleanup from the wildfires in Sept. 2020. If they can’t afford to pay normal, not excessive claims, this was my 2nd in over 12 years, the other was a break in, they shouldn’t be in the insurance business. They tried 4 times to raise my auto rates, for the ”share the cost” crap! They raised my homeowners over 30%! BUYER BEWARE Product: CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance Home Insurance Comment Hea Boster June 13, 2022 • @hrboster 1 Star Rating well, as usual...I come here to see how terrible thest ppl are and Shock!! all the "if I could give ZERO stars, I would" quotes...Count me in on that sentiment!!! times a million... Horrid...I honestly don't know how these ppl stay in business. NO words...like someone else said "get ready to be your OWN claims adjustor" NO service, NO call backs, NO follow through or decent human honesty ....Nothing...and then just ....screwed at every turn....Wishing I wasn't one of the 'little people" in this world or I'd take them to court for anguish, lost time and money from my own job spent doing THE JOB I paid dearly to have them do. Please tell me this company and all within will be out of business by the end of the year...couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch. Product: CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance Car Insurance Comment Mike Mims June 2, 2022 • @mgm6k 1 Star Rating Called to get a quote for a new car and to also see about transferring title of another car I already insure with them to my daughter. Told rep she would be living out of state while away at school and he said it would be no problem. Called back 2 days later to formerly add the new car to the policy but was told by the new rep my daughter would have to get her own policy (thereby losing the multiple car discount). Two reps, 2 totally different responses. I will be looking to change companies, prices are ok but customer service is horrendous. Product: CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance Car Insurance Comment Annie Mertens May 25, 2022 • @anniecullen167 1 Star Rating They refused to give me a quote for insurance because I had to file a claim a year ago because SOMEONE HIT ME. I was literally not at fault for the accident, why should I be penalized for filing a claim. That is the purpose of insurance!!! Bogus company. Product: CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance Car Insurance Comment Cara Willson May 23, 2022 • @mrswillson68 1 Star Rating If I could give them zero stars I would. I have been with them for over 8 years. My card changed and when my old card was declined with their company they apparently sent out a letter I never received. Then, the letter I actually received was the day after they said my plan was canceled. Called them and they said they cannot provide me insurance because of the 2 day lapse in coverage. They never called or emailed me about the decline with my card. They just sent out a letter...I never received. I have been a good standing customer and have never missed a payment. I will never do business with this company again. Product: CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance Car Insurance Comment Review CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance Q&A(11 questions)Yes, Connect offers a defensive driving course discount for drivers who have successfully completed an approved driver education course. By voluntarily taking an approved defensive driving course, Connect car insurance customers in eligible states can get a discount, though the exact amount varies between each state. Once the
discount expires, drivers can renew it by taking another course. Defensive driving courses improve your driving skills by teaching you how to handle difficult situations on the road. For example, common traffic school topics include DUI/DWI laws, the consequences of different moving violations, and how to share the road. Specific details vary between states and classes, but online defensive driving
courses typically cost up to $40 and take 4-12 hours to complete. To learn more, check out WalletHub's guide to Connect discounts. You can get a Connect good student discount if you have at least a B average. Student drivers can save as long as they are full time high school or college students. Young drivers are usually quite expensive to insure since they lack driving experience. However, Connect offers a good student discount because having good grades shows the insurer that you are
responsible off the road, meaning you're more likely to be responsible in the driver's seat as well. Connect good student discounts vary by state, but it's always worth the effort of checking if they are available in your location. Yes, Connect has accident forgiveness for car insurance customers. Connect accident forgiveness applies to one accident every three years, and it can be earned for free if you've been a Connect customer for at least three years without any accidents. Keep in mind that Connect
accident forgiveness is per policy, not per driver. As a result, if one driver on a shared policy caused an accident in the past three years, the other named drivers cannot have an accident forgiven. On average, insurance premiums go up by 48% after an at-fault accident. This just goes to show how much of a money-saver accident forgiveness can be. But even if you don't qualify for Connect accident
forgiveness, there are still other ways to lower your rate after an accident. To learn more, check out reviews and key information about Connect, as well as our guide to accident forgiveness. To cancel Connect insurance, the policyholder must contact a customer service representative at (888) 239-9953. The cancellation can be
arranged for a future date or set to take effect immediately. You will need your name, policy number, and the date you want your policy to end. If you've already paid your premium for the policy period in full, Connect will refund the unused portion, minus any cancellation fees. It's important to remember that you don't need to cancel your policy just because you're going through some life changes. For example, you should have Connect update your mailing address or vehicle information if
you're moving or buying a new car. If you're canceling your current policy in order to switch to another company, be sure to activate your new policy before canceling the old one. This prevents a lapse in coverage, which would lead to higher premiums in the future. Yes, Connect offers gap insurance as an optional policy add-on. Connect gap insurance pays the difference between a totaled car's actual cash value and
your remaining loan or lease balance, though you will be responsible for paying a deductible. The cost of Connect gap insurance depends on factors like your state and your vehicle's value. Regardless, purchasing gap insurance from an insurance company is usually a better investment than purchasing this coverage from a dealership, where the cost is often rolled into your loan/lease and charged interest. Plus, you can cancel Connect gap insurance once your car is worth more than your loan or
lease balance. For more information, check out WalletHub's complete guide to gap insurance. Does AmFam own homesite?American Family Insurance owns a variety of companies, including Connect, The General, Homesite, and Main Street America.
