I specialize in elopements and intimate weddings but also take on a limited amount of full weddings each season. When to Go With snow closing much of the high country in winter and spring, Mid-Summer and early fall are the best times to visit Glacier if you want to access the whole park. How’s the weather The weather here has an extreme amount of variability so you need to be ready for anything. In summer hot days and cool nights are normal so bring layers. In fall mornings and nights can be quite chilly and there’s always a chance of snow. Where to stay The park is roughly divided in half. Most accommodations, food, shopping, and the airport are on the west side. The east side has a few hotels including the iconic Many Glacier Hotel, but few food and shopping options. Things to do Drive the iconic Going to the sun Road. Book a rafting trip with the Glacier rafting company. Take a boat tour across one the majestic lakes. What to avoid The biggest thing to avoid would be the crowds. Plan your excursions into the park to start early to avoid the bulk of the crowds. Bring layers. Don’t forget bear spray, its grizzly country after all. And keep in mind that most things close before you’ll be back from the park.
