2014 dodge charger crankshaft position sensor location

I have a 2019 R/T and my car won’t start, throws the code for the crankshaft position sensor. I have looked up and down and I can’t find it. I know on earlier years it was behind the starter, I even checked there. Can someone PLEASE help me?

Behind the starter.

On the passenger side of the engine, at the back by the trans bell housing, the starter is bolted to the engine block with 3 x 15mm bolts. Unbolt it and place aside. The Crank sensor is now accessible.

My starter is on the drivers side, there are only two bolts holding the actual starter itself and one bolt which I’m assuming is a ground.

Really...interesting...I would still check for a wiring harness routed to something directly behind it. If you see something like that, it's going to be the crank sensor.

I didn't know they switched sides on the engine block for the Hemi starters...I wonder when that happened, in the 2015 refresh?

I looked on YouTube and only found a video for earlier year Challengers. I pulled my starter off just to check, but of course I’m not that lucky. I was hoping someone could help me. I can’t even find a diagram online of where it would be. It should be a simple fix.

Well, did you look on the passenger side rearward of that side's knock sensor? That's where it is normally, behind the starter. Maybe they moved the starter to the other side but kept the crank sensor in the same location.

Regardless, the sensor detects teeth on the crank reluctor wheel, which is bolted to the back of the crank. So that sensor has to be back there somewhere, either on one side or the other.

According this image it is item number 3 and looks to be on the driver side of the engine. If its anything like the old Magnums then its a few degrees outboard of center on the bellhousing. With my old truck it was really hard to get to, I know they hemis are different but according to this diagram it looks like its in a similar location. BTW the image is for 2013-2022 engines.

So it’s on the topside of the block kinda under where the heater hose inlet/outlets connect to the heater core…interesting. Yeah that will be tougher to get I think, but not impossible if the cowl cover is removed
