May I know the exact error that you see on the screen? Were you able to open the doors using the original key?

Damaged key, this appears for both key fobs. Yes both key fobs will lock and unlock the doors.

Have you tried replacing the battery? If the battery never replaced from the time you bought the vehicle then it running weak that is why its not giving signal to the key.

Replace the battery and everything should be fixed. The battery model is CR 2032 battery.

The car will not start using the fob, the battery is good, it still unlocks/locks the doors.

Starting function is different from unlocking/locking the door. It doesnt mean that the battery is ok though you can unlock/lock the doors. Have you replaced the battery before?

Do you really believe that the batteries for both key fobs would die sufficiently, at the same time to prevent the start function?

You its very odd as well that both keys will not start using the start function. Inorder for us to narrow down the problem. We need to eliminate the smallest possibility where the problem could start.

The first thing to start with is the batteries. Next step would be a the ignition module.

Please be informed also that there is a TSB for this issue since this is very common problem to this type of vehicle?

Have you called the dealership about the TSB regarding "damaged key" error?
Because the next step that you will do if new battery will not work is to bring the vehicle to the dealership and have them reprogram the key.

Hi Mark,

Were you able to read my messages? Can you try to reset your vehicle first by unplugging both battery cables from the terminal. Wait for 2 mins then plug them back to the battery terminals. Test the issue again.
