Leon-trapped as a background character in an otome game-has made himself the center of the plot, and the center of any number of plots from rival boys and pretty girls. He tries to distance himself from the game's heroines with the help of the almighty airship Luxion, but etiquette demands that he must join both girls (and his many enemies) on the class trip. Show Series Overview: Thanks to some unfortunate gameplay, a young man named Leon has
been reborn into the world of an alternate universe otome game. Facing an absurd scenario where males are no better than livestock who serve at the whim of women, Leon only has one weapon-his knowledge of the dating sim genre-to survive the challenges he faces and inspire a revolt against the system! Hating every minute of it, he is exhausted by the end of the weekend, dying while he falls of the stairs of his apartment. Of course, he wakes up in the body of a low-ranked noble in the world like the game he just played and hated. While hoping for the lazy life of a nobody, events transpire against him, especially since he is too good natured to ignore the plight of the official heroine of the story who is pushed out of her position by somebody else. Trapped in a Dating Sim is a funny story, a satire on dating sims (both otome and regular), questioning (and subverting) some of its tropes or at least openly questioning their viability. The MC is not always likeable, and I think it would have worked better if he regained his memory at 14 instead of 5 (now leaving me wondering what he did in those 10 years). Most of the other characters are great, having more depth then most in these kind of stories. His actions fit the comedy, but do make the MC look a bit stupid or at the very least unwilling to accept the truth and keeping himself blind on purpose. Still, it was an entertaining story, a first arc in a bigger overall one. Up to the next part. Reviewed in the United States πΊπΈ on September 4, 2022 Characters are absolutely a breath of fresh air. Leon is an amazing protagonist who balances a sense of justice with an attitude fit for old angry men. Reviewed in the United States πΊπΈ on August 7, 2022 I love how the author took some thing common place from a video gamers point of view on certain game genres, and turned it into a comedic hit series Reviewed in the United States πΊπΈ on July 24, 2022 If your on the fence I recommend picking this one up. Itβs a fun read. Nothing too ground breaking, but it definitely holds your interest. Personally Iβm waiting for the shoe to drop and to see if things are the way I think they are. Reviewed in the United States πΊπΈ on June 13, 2022 I am reading this book to determine if it is appropriate for my daughter. I find it to be enjoyable and even somewhat whimsical. The strange premise of the story allows the author a great deal of leeway in crafting the narrative. The only complaint I have is that the story indicates that some of the characters are sexually active. This is supposed to be a "High School " setting, so I find the inclusion of such behavior counterproductive to encouraging good morals in young people. It adds little to the story. Reviewed in the United States πΊπΈ on July 10, 2022 I started reading this after watching the anime. It's fairly 1 to 1 so far with a little added context. I look forward to reading the rest. Reviewed in the United States πΊπΈ on July 8, 2022 Much more detail than the anime. I now know more about the characters. I will jump right into the next book in the series. Reviewed in the United States πΊπΈ on July 6, 2022 My package came in very great quality and was carefully packaged and was delivered way earlier then what the initial delivery date said. Top reviews from other countries5.0 out of 5 stars Something a lil different Reviewed in the United Kingdom π¬π§ on November 22, 2020 Considering how much the market is saturated with reincarnation Otome-game series, this is fresh in a way that works with the genre. With elements of political intrigue, both in the academy and the Royal Court, it follows a different route compared with others. Rather than a protag who constantly tries to predict what happens next, Leon is very proactive in doing the things he wants to do without always thinking through where it might take him: something that makes him feel that much more alive as a character. If you want to read an Otome-game series but fancy a change of pace from the usual "girl's attempts to avoid bad endings lead her on the harem route" this is a good read, even moreso if you're a fan of the "everyone thinks he's weak sauce but the MC is overpowered" trope. 5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent first Volume Reviewed in the United Kingdom π¬π§ on December 9, 2020 I admit I was excited when I learned this series would be officially published, I had read to certain extent the web novels and boy does the light novel version does not disappoint, can't wait to see how it handles the other volumes!!!! 5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing twist on the reincarnation story Reviewed in the United Kingdom π¬π§ on January 25, 2021
