Redken diamond oil glow dry hair oil

The Redken Diamond Oil Glow Dry Style Enhancing Oil £33.50 is a product I’ve had within my haircare ‘to try’ stash for quite some time as I’ve had other hair oils which needed using up. I’ve only tried a small selection of Redken products thus far but I’ve liked what I have tried. I’ve tried the Redken Pillow Proof Blowdry Express Treatment Primer Cream which claimed to reduce blowdrying time, but I didn’t notice a massive reduction in blowdrying. Instead it tamed my hair and made it more cooperative so I needed to spend less time heat styling, but the Redken Diamond Oil Glow Dry Style Enhancing Oil claimed to also reduce blowdrying time so I wanted to see how it’d compare.

I have never tried any of the Redken oils before as I’ve been pretty loyal to MorocconOil and Macadamia Oil, but I’ve read really great things about the different Redken Diamond Oils. The Redken Diamond Oil Glow Dry Style Enhancing Oil is totally clear, but prior to taking this photo I had shaken the bottle so it looks a little cloudy but I assure it’s a totally clear, colourless oil.

The packaging is seriously stunning, with a multi-faceted pink glass bottle with a black pump. The oil doesn’t have a strong scent, but it does smell nice although I do wish it was more heavily fragranced as I like how I can smell MorocconOil or Macadmia Oil within my hair, even the next day.

After towel drying my hair, I like to pump four pumps of the oil into my palm and rub my hands together to evenly coat them and then run the oil through my hair from the roots to the tips. My hair is very fine and can be weighed down extremely easily, but with the Redken Diamond Oil Glow Dry oil, I haven’t noticed any issues even when applying the oil sparingly to my roots.

Once my hair is lightly coated with the oil, I begin brushing and after brushing I add one more pump of oil concentrating just on the ends. As the weather has been so warm this summer, I’ve been leaving my hair to dry naturally and this oil has been a godsend in keeping my pesky baby hairs tamed whilst it dries. I have naturally wavy hair which can become crazily frizzy very easily, but when using this oil the frizz is very, very minimal and my hair dries SO much quicker when drying naturally or when being dried with my hair dryer.

When using this oil, I can do a middle parting and create a sleek pony tail look without a halo of flyaways as it does an amazing job at smoothing the hair, and banishing any frizz. One of my favourite benefits of using this oil within my haircare routine, is how incredibly shiny it leaves my hair. It makes my hair look very glossy, and I think it imparts more shine than my Macadamia Oil. I’m a really big fan of this oil as it conditions, smooths, de-frizzes, tames, protects and conditions my hair without weighing it down and I’m kicking myself for not trying it sooner.
