Microneedling for loose skin on stomach

Having children is a wonderful blessing and I would not change that for the world.  Sadly, sometimes our body does change.  One of the issues I had after my fourth, was I got a lot of stretch marks and a lot of loose skin.  I was told the only thing I could do was get a tummy tuck.  That is very frustrating to hear.

Now that I am in my late 40s, I am doing everything I can to keep the skin on my face nice and firm.  I decided, if these things work for the face, why  not the tummy.  I thought it wa worth a shot.  My tummy is not anywhere near pre chidlren, but I do feel like it has impooved quite a bit.  I wish I knew about these things when I was younger, because I do believe I would have had better results.

These are the products I use, Link is in the name of the product.

MSM Powder
Vit C
Dermaroller:  I do not think this is the exact product, but it is basically the same 1.5 mm
Matrrxyl S6 Serum

Fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, loose and saggy skin, and acne scarring are all skin problems people look to resolve. There are many ways to address these issues. However, some are notably more effective than others. The best (non-surgical) procedure to reduce loose and sagging skin on most body areas is Microneedling.

This safe, minimally invasive procedure, also called collagen induction therapy, is not a new procedure. Although the process and the tools used during a Microneedling procedure have changed over time, the process itself has been used by skincare professionals like our team at Clique Salon and Med Spa for more than twenty years.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a treatment used to reduce the appearance of several unwanted skin conditions. Microneedling treatments are a highly effective way to vastly improve the appearance of acne scarring, stretch marks, pores, and wrinkles. Microneedling also helps improve skin elasticity, texture and reduces the visibility of sunspots and hyperpigmentation.

Microneedling can also help reduce sagging skin. The process helps encourage your body to produce more collagen naturally by causing minor injury to the skin's surface. Once the procedure is complete, your body responds to the wounds created by the tool by making new, healthy, collagen-rich tissues. Because Microneedling is a very versatile procedure that can help improve many skin concerns, it helps to understand more about how the procedure achieves desired effects.

Can Microneedling Tighten Skin?

People experience loose or sagging skin for several reasons. For some, it occurs after dramatic weight loss or after pregnancy. Others may notice looser skin as part of the natural aging process as collagen levels in the body decline. Collagen is a vital component of youthful, healthy-looking skin.

Microneedling can help tighten loose skin because it encourages your body to start producing more collagen to replace what is damaged or lost. As previously noted, increased collagen production improves and rejuvenates your skin. This results in an overall improvement in skin tightness and texture. It also reduces the presence of sagging and wrinkled skin by filling in the areas around wrinkles and dimples to improve appearance.

How Long Does it Take to See Tighter Skin?

It is important to remember that just like the time it takes for sagging or loose skin to develop, it also takes time to improve. The number of Microneedling treatments you may need to see tighter, firmer skin varies depending on a few factors unique to your skin. The first factor is the results you hope to achieve using Microneedling for skin tightening. The second factor is the location and size of the treatment area.

People who choose Microneedling for skin concerns other than loose or sagging skin may notice results within a few sessions. Examples of these treatment types may include crow’s feet, deep forehead wrinkles, and fine lines around the face. When using Microneedling to address sagging or loose skin and stretch marks, some patients may need between five and ten sessions to achieve their desired skin-tightening results.

How Often Can I Get Microneedling Treatments for Skin Tightening?

There are many skin benefits you can achieve with Microneedling treatments. However, providing your skin with the time it requires to heal between sessions is essential. Microneedling improves excess skin laxity and increases collagen and elastin production by "damaging" the skin.

The healing process is what causes increased collagen and elastin production. For this reason, it is important to schedule Microneedling sessions between four and six weeks apart to ensure adequate healing time.

How Long do Microneedling Results Last?

Microneedling results will last between three and five months. Again, there are factors unique to your skin that play a role in how long your results last.

These include how long collagen remains viable in your skin and how severe your skin concerns are. If you need to produce a lot of collagen to achieve your skincare goals, you may notice your initial results fade after a few months. However, if your concerns are minor, longer-lasting results are generally seen.

Can Microneedling Tighten Belly Skin?

Loose or sagging skin around your belly may happen after weight loss or pregnancy. Loose belly skin is not unique to women, as men struggle with frustrating “extra” skin around their belt line as well. Microneedling (collagen-induction therapy) with SkinPen can help you get rid of sagging skin around your belly, no matter the reason for it.

What is the Best Treatment for Skin Tightening?

There are several non-invasive and minimally invasive ways to firm sagging skin. The first options are skin-firming lotions and creams. Many of these products are readily available in your local store's skincare or pharmacy section. Although easily accessible, most are unlikely to provide dramatic results.

To date, the American Academy of Dermatology does not indicate any lotions or creams on the market that are capable of delivering lifting or firming results.

After creams are non-invasive skin tightening procedures such as ultrasound skin tightening, radiofrequency, and laser treatments. These procedures, including popular fat reduction treatments like truSculptID, Ultherapy, and Thermage, use micro-focused ultrasound energy or radiofrequency (RF) therapy to reduce body fat cells and sagging skin. Many of these treatments are effective and considered safe for most people.

Another benefit is that they work well on most body areas and are short and painless procedures. Each requires several treatment sessions before achieving optimal results. They also require regular maintenance sessions to maintain lasting effects.

Finally (at least without surgical intervention), there are minimally invasive skin tightening procedures. These procedures, including Microneedling, laser resurfacing, and radiofrequency, offer the most noticeable results without an invasive procedure. Microneedling produces nearly immediate results from your session, making it the best treatment for skin tightening. With each session taking only 10 to 20 minutes, Microneedling is a quick, effective way to reduce sagging skin or address other areas of skin concern.

Can I Combine Other Treatments with Micro-Needling?

A common question is, "can I combine other procedures with a Microneedling session?" The answer is yes. Combining treatments with your Microneedling appointment ensures you can get the most from each session here at Clique Salon and Spa.

We offer several treatments that blend well with Microneedling to help you achieve your best skin. Examples include laser hair removal procedures, facials, laser skin treatments, dermal fillers, and injectables such as Botox.

There are many potential benefits to Microneedling, including a safe, effective, and long-lasting way to tighten saggy or loose skin. Microneedling is safe for all skin types and skin tones. Virtually anyone who has a concern such as stretch marks, wrinkles, or sagging skin is an ideal candidate for Microneedling at Clique Salon and Spa.
