Lord of the rings ring for sale

The One Ring created for The Lord of the Rings trilogy was designed and made by Jens Hansen - Gold & Silversmith of Nelson, New Zealand (Middle-earth).

Weta is pleased to be working with Jens Hansen to produce The One Ring in gold plated Tungsten Carbide. It's crafted to the exact shape, thickness and proportions of the original movie prop. The 18K gold plating and the significant weight of the Tungsten now ensures that you can own a One Ring that looks and feels absolutely right.

Jens Hansen's reputation as a brilliant ringmaker was one of the main reasons he was approached to make the One Ring for The Lord of the Rings. Today Jens Hansen's son, Halfdan Hansen, continues his father's legacy, and supervises the production of The One Ring for us.

My father Jens Hansen knew and loved J.R.R. Tolkien’s books, and was very excited when he heard the movies were going to be filmed in New Zealand. Then came a phone call asking if he would make The One Ring. He was thrilled and honoured, as we are to have created the world's most authentic One Ring replica exclusively for Weta, and for you.

This gorgeous piece of jewellery has the famous words in ancient Black Speech runes delicately engraved on the inside and outside of the ring, as well as on the beautiful wooden gift box made from natural Walnut timber. The box can be displayed open thanks to an ingenious and almost invisible elastic hinge or closed with a strong rare-earth magnet.

The lid features a The Lord of the Rings logo on the outside and the logos of Weta and Jens Hansen on the inside. The inside bottom of the box is lined with blue velvet.

Like anything made from natural timber, variations in grain and colour will occur and the colour may also change over time. This is an entirely natural process.

ABOUT TUNGSTEN

Tungsten is a natural element which has many unique properties. It has the highest melting point of all non-alloyed metals and is extremely hard - approximately four times harder than Titanium. Tungsten is most well known for its virtually scratchproof qualities. Even in high impact environments, tungsten will not scratch.

The product you have purchased from Weta is a Gold Plated product - with reasonable wear and tear the gold finish should retain its lustre for at least 2 years.

Tungsten carbide is 100% hypoallergenic and will not produce skin irritation or discoloration. Tungsten does not react to sunlight, salt water, chlorine or anything that the body emits.

Tungsten carbide rings require other metals to be used as a "binder", in the case of the One Ring, nickel is used. Tungsten bonds to the nickel molecules, preventing them from leeching into the skin. This is why Tungsten is hypoallergenic.

WAYS TO WEAR

If you are selecting The One Ring to wear daily, we recommend choosing the Sterling Silver, 10k or 18k Gold versions. This is because over time, with constant rubbing, the gold plate on the tungsten One Ring will wear away.

Altenatively, you can choose to wear your Tungsten One Ring on a Sterling Silver chain - such as Weta's 25 inch (65 cm) long chain upon which Frodo Baggins carried the One Ring in The Lord of the Rings. Also designed by Jens Hansen, this chain, with its unique S-shaped clasp is an exact replica of the chain that features in the close-up shots in the movies.

This is an Original replica of the "Lord of The Rings" Ring.
The ring is sharply engraved from the outside and from the inside.
Here you have the perfect ring to wear on you wedding day and/or your engagement day.

These two lines are part of a longer poem of lore:

“Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men, doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.”
