Overall it's a good kit but there are a few things that could be better.I installed the kit in my new Liberty Centurion 18 gun safe. There are 4 different installation videos for different models of Liberty safes on their website. My safe didn't have the interior panel drilled out so I followed video #4.They are suggesting to use a 2 7/8 inch hole saw where the first problem appears. I challenge you to find a hole saw that size at Home Depot or Lowes. I can promise that you won't have any luck. I personally used a 3 inch hole saw which honestly worked just fine but not knowing that in the beginning cost me time and nerves.I read a lot of reviews about this Power & Media kit and noticed that people are claiming that the plastic housing is scratched and the kit smells like burned electrical components and it looks used.I inspected the kit at arrival and being a Manufacturing Engineer I have a different point of view. The electrical components are fine AND NEW, The plastic housing is not scratched but simply of inferior quality. It would've taken an extra step in fabrication of this part to make it look nicer. I'm assuming that the plastic part, if not the whole kit is made in China and money was saved in just not running the piece in a tumbler machine after injection molding. I personally don't think it's a big deal. You have to look closely to see the imperfections. The "burned electrical smell" is also coming from the plastic. It is gassing out. The smell will go away after a while. Some of our cheaper packaging components have the same exact smell.Long story short. There is no need to worry about hooking the kit up to power. The installation was fairly simple and took me about 20 minutes including vacuuming the inside of my safe after drilling. This kit is the cleanest way to run 120volt, a USB connection, an ethernet cable and the antenna cable for the SAFELERT monitoring device's antenna. I would definetely buy it again.

Needed power inside a safe to add interior lighting and a dehumidifier. This is the best option for a compatible Liberty safe so you can do it without making too many modifications. I would have liked to see one available with more outlets and without the communications jacks.

It is as easy to install as you can expect. There are some steps, but that is to be expected. The spacers could be labeled, but that is the only issue. The value was not better than getting it from Liberty, except Liberty was out of stock.

After seeing a review from another person showing they had modified their safe to fit this item I decided to give it a try and I am happy that I did. This is much better than building a custom solution. It took me about 1.5 hours - mostly because I was checking and re-checking all my measurements before doing any cutting. For those that might want to do the same on a safe without an existing knock-out, I will provide guidance on how I completed this (proceed at your own risk).

1. Determine where you want the inside unit to be, ensuring there is clearance around all sides. Mark the center.
2. Drill a 1/4" hole through the center from inside the safe
3. If you have a 3" hole-saw, use that to draw a circle on the inside fabric around the center hole. If not, use some sort of template. I printed a 3" circle in Word and used that as a template.
4. Cut the fabric around that circle
5. If you have a hole-saw, use it to cut out the drywall around the center hole. I did not have a hole-saw that big and used a box cutter. Took a while, but not impossible.
6. On the outside, put painter's tape over the center hole so it extends about an inch or two in all directions.
7. Center the outside bracket over the outside hole and trace the two screw holes and the inside 'knockout".
8. Using a drill bit the same size as the screw holes in the bracket, drill the two holes marked
9. Using a larger drill bit, drill the two opposing sides of the "knockout"
10, Using a Dremel with a cutoff wheel (for metal), cut out the remaining area of the "knockout".
11. Test fit the kit from inside the safe. If too tight, cut/file the hole a little bit bigger. The hole in the safe can be a little bigger than the knockout area since the bracket will cover it. Just try not to cut the narrow space between the screw holes and the knockout area.
12. Continue assembly as per the normal instructions.

The finish is just rough, scratched plastic. It seems easy enough to install if your safe has a cutout for the accessory outlet already. I bought it for a different make of safe. One day I might install it but for now it sits on the shelf. You need a special shape cutout in the back of the safe for the unit to install. Yes I am a long time metal worker and making the cutout will not be a big deal but it is more than I want to do right now. My safe had a small hole through the back for a cord so I just cut the plug off an inexpensive extension cord, fed it through the hole and put a new plug on the cord. Bingo, 3 outlets in the safe and no install hasles. As I said, if you have a Liberty safe it should not be a big deal to install. Liberty could have made it universal to ALL makes of safes if they had only spent a few more cents on the outside plate of the accessory kit to cover a 3 inch round hole (needed for the install of the kit) rather than a special shaped hole only found on Liberty safes. Literally a few more cents of metal would have made a universal kit that looks and works well for ALL brands of safes without detracting at all from their safes. If you own a Browning safe, just buy a $7 extension cord and do what I did.

I installed it on a Provault by liberty gunsafe I purchased at Basspro. The intent was mainly to plug a heated rod. It was relatively easy to install. There are a few good videos on you tube for the installation. I might install leds lights now that I have electricity in the safe. I recommend this product.

Works! What else can I say? Bought two of them installed within just a few minutes, plugged into the wall and boom! Power to my safe! In my honest opinion, having a safe is only about 75% of the battle. Warding off humidity is the other 25%. Install these into your safe to prevent humidity from ruining your investments!

Works great for my safe installed super easy I definitely recommend it especially if you live in a cold and high humidity area I also purchased unoriginal Goldenrod so now all my firearms will be rust free. I was originally going to just run an extension cord to it with a power bar but this works way better.

5.0 out of 5 stars 1st option or add on.

Allows you to add power & comms to the interior of the safe. Instructions are clear and templates make the installation fairly easy. A must have for any big safe. The instructions say you require a 2 3/4" to 3" hole saw to install, but 2 1/2" is fine too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, professional installation

It fit perfectly. Watch the videos online before starting the install, they show it very well.
