Jeep cherokee rear quarter window replacement

First of all, why were you in such a hurry to speed away from where ever it was that you got the TV from?

I don't know anything about how the windows are held in place, but I did the string trick you refer to when installing the windshield into my first car, a 1968 VW Beetle. You put some good strong string in the channel of the weather strip all the way around and overlap it at the ends by about a foot. Have a friend hold the window against the frame from the outside and hold light pressure against it while you slowly pull the string from the inside. This will pull the lip of the seal over the metal frame. We didn't use any soap to lube it up and got it perfect on the first try. We also didn't use any adhesive or sealant and never had any leaks, but it wasn't required on that window either.

Like I said I have no idea how your window should go in, but that's how I did the string trick you mentioned. If it were me, I'd cut the window out of the junker and then carry it to a professional for them to install, since I would think the glass would be the most expensive part.

Basic installation instructions:
1) Wipe down and clean the area your decal/s will go. Make sure the area is clean, free from dirt and debris.
2) Peel off the decal and transfer tape from the backing paper.
3) Carefully apply the decal onto the area. Make sure to lay the decal flat eliminating all air bubbles. If needed, use a felt edge tool or squeegee to assist with application.
4) Carefully and slowly remove the transfer tape from the decal.
5) Repeat steps for any additional decal. Press firmly and gently rub the decal with a microfiber cloth or a felt squeegee tool while applying heat to assist with adhesion. 100% satisfaction guaranteed!

The quality of this decal was excellent . It fit perfectly on the rear window and the vinyl was great. The only complaint I have is that the transfer paper was cut a little off making it slightly more difficult to install.
