How long should you leave olaplex 3 on

Every day I receive various questions about Olaplex.

One of the questions that get repeated a lot is can I leave Olaplex N° 3 in my hair all night long?

The answer is NO.

Actually is not necessarily.

Why?

Basically, because Olaplex 3 reaches its maximum acting power after forty-five minutes.

That means that even if you leave the Olaplex in your hair overnight, you will get the same results as if you left it on for forty-five minutes.

Now that I answered one of the most common questions about this product, I’d like to tell you what Olaplex is exactly.

If you have never heard of this treatment, it’s because you’ve been living under a rock or because you’re not interested in new products that improve your hair’s health.

 As a stylist, I get new product offers daily, but to tell you the truth, most of them are just more of the same. 

All promise the World, but in the end, they are all the same.

Despite my skepticism, I should say that Olaplex works.

It keeps its promises.

Olaplex isn’t a conditioner, nor a mask.

Olaplex contains an ingredient with a very scientific name called bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate.

Of course, I didn’t remember it from memory.

I had to leave the computer for a minute to look at the product label.

I’m a good hairdresser, but my memory is like that of an ant.

 This ingredient reconstructs and regenerates the disulfide bridges of the hair, which end up completely destroyed after doing chemical processes like bleaching or dyeing. 

And also, it doesn’t contain sulfates or silicones nor any of those ingredients that dry out your hair.

It’s a three-step treatment, two of which you should do at a beauty salon.

But the third, you can do it in the comfort of your own home.

Now, if you know me, you know I don’t like to lie.

 If you don’t have enough money to do the whole treatment, because to tell you the truth, it’s quite expensive, you can do a treatment with Olaplex 3 without paying for step 1 and 2.  

Obviously, the results won’t be the same.

Especially if you have very mistreated hair.

But it will help you reconstruct the broken internal structure of the hair, leaving it shinier and smoother.

Now, I want to share two of my clients’ experiences that had very mistreated hair for different reasons.

That’s why I decided to recommend Olaplex 3 to them.

Mariana had very damaged hair. This is what happened when she used Olaplex

Mariana is twenty-five years old, and she loves pastel colors like pink, purple, light blue, and green.

The problem is that every three or four months, she applied those colors to her hair.

 When she got to my salon, I saw the state of her hair, and I felt my soul break.  

Her hair was dry, straw-like, and split ends.

You could even not a slight loss of hair by passing the brush through her hair.

She had come to my salon with the idea of trimming the ends to improve the aspect of her hair.

Immediately, I realized that even if I trimmed her ends, the problem wouldn’t go away.

Because her hair fibers were damaged internally, just trimming the ends wouldn’t solve anything.

Like all teenagers, Micaela loved straight hair.

So much so that she practically straightened her hair every two days.

Olaplex 3 does not work miracles.

Remember that it works from the inside out in your hair, putting back together the broken links.

Olaplex 3 will repair your hair permanently, if and when you don’t go back to using chemical processes like bleaching.

If you decide to do it, then you will have to repeat the Olaplex 3 treatment.

How to apply Olaplex at home in just 4 steps

In just four steps, you can achieve much healthier hair, but not just on the outside, but most importantly, on the inside.

In the above image, you can see the instructions in English that come on the product label. If you don’t feel like reading the fine print there, I’ll leave the step by step process below along with some additional recommendations.

• Wash your hair, if possible, with sulfate-free shampoo

This will get rid of all the residue from oils and other products.

• Apply Olaplex 3 on your hair

You can apply it on dry hair or wet hair.

The only difference is that you’ll need to use more product if you use it on dry hair.

If you decide to apply the product to wet hair, simply squeeze out the excess water with a towel.

• Let the Olaplex sit for 45 minutes

Like I said at the beginning of this post, after 45 minutes, the product will reach its maximum acting level.

So whether you let it sit for three hours, ninety minutes, or all night long, the results won’t change.

• Wash and rinse your hair

To do this, you’ll need to use shampoo and conditioner.

Yes, conditioner too, because this is not a conditioning treatment, but an internal hair repair treatment.

If you use a leave-in conditioner, that’s even better.
