The console was announced at gamescom 2021 by Joseph Staten on August 25 and was immediately put up for preorder on a variety of different online stores, selling out almost instantly.

Design[]

Console[]

The design of the console is inspired by various parts of Halo Infinite, such as the technology and locations from the game. The console is uses a dark metallic color scheme with iridium gold highlights tracing across the console. Star patterns cover the top half of the console, inspired by the stars that can be seen from the surface of Zeta Halo. The ventilation grill at the top of the console uses a blue Cortana inspired accent, instead of the regular green that is used on standard consoles.

The console also uses custom startup and shutdown tones, however it is unknown what sound this actually is yet.

Controller[]

The controller uses a fairly similar design to match with the console, using mainly black and grey colors across the controllers faceplate as well as various gold outlines. The controller also includes a custom grip and textured triggers. The 20 Years of Halo logo is also used on the battery cover of the controller.

• The Halo Infinite Xbox Series X was the first limited edition ninth generation Xbox to be released.
