Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2022 you can't tell if there is any quality it it. On the outside it looks OK.. only repeated use over several thousands of miles will tell. Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2020 I am not including Amsoil products. They claim to be the best and might be, but the cost is too much. GM did a test in 1988 regarding particle size and engine life until overhaul. Removing particles in the 10 to 20 micron range extended the life from 150k (Standard oil filter) to 400k miles.(10 to 20 micron filter) So everything else is the same, same oil change intervals, only difference is the particle size. Fram Ultra filters have synthetic filter material, not a blend like Mobil 1. Mobil 1 are great filters, but they don't advertise the micron size, and use blended filter material. However, most cars will out last their transmissions even with cheap oil and filters and 5 to 7k oil change intervals. But, with terrible quality control, and lack of accountability by all auto manufacturers, it is a good idea to run a Fram Ultra, in case the manufacturer didn't clean the engine block after machining and left a bunch of metal in there. (Like Hyundai Kia and lots of engines built and assembled in China and put in the big 3 and Toyota cars) The only problem with these filters is the bent metal piece for a bypass when the filter gets clogged or the engine has high pressure like on a cold morning start. Other filters use a spring. Its possible the bent metal spring in these lets loads of oil bypass the filter completely. Finally when choosing an oil filter, check how long its good for. These and mobil 1 filters are good for 20k miles. Some filters are only good for 3k miles. When used beyond that time they usually tear and let all sorts of stuff pass through.
