Drunk mom locked herself and son in car texas

Police in Texas arrested a woman after she locked herself and her ten-year-old son inside of her truck while temperatures soared past 100 degrees. Authorities said Adriane Grace Moss appeared to be drunk when they arrived after her son called 911 to report that he was locked inside of his mother's 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. While on the phone with police the boy asked his mother to roll down the windows but she refused.

When officers arrived, they found the temperature inside of the car was 123 degrees and the boy and his mother both had "sweaty and matted hair." The boy told police he was locked in the car for about one hour before they arrived.

Moss was taken into custody and released on a $15,000 bond. She faces charges of child endangerment.

A Texas mother was arrested after she allegedly passed out drunk in a car with her 10-year-old boy in the backseat during the triple digit temperatures.

The incident happened on Saturday, July 21st during the peak afternoon hours in Lakeway, Texas.

Lakeway Police arrested 34-year-old Adriane Grace Moss in the case.

The boy called police and said that his mom was passed out drunk and that he was locked inside a hot car.

Authorities say at the time of the call the temperature outside was about 104 degrees.

While authorities were trying to locate the vehicle, they asked the boy to pass the phone to his mother.

The boy says his mom was only going to hang up the phone.

Police were able to eventually locate the vehicle and arrest Moss.

A family member who did not want to come out camera says Moss has had multiple run-ins with the law and believes she should not have custody of the children.

CPS says they could not comment on the case due to the ongoing investigation.

Moss’ attorney says she does not have custody of her children and that her son is in the custody of a supervisor of her choice.

A Lakeway mother was arrested after police say she passed out after locking herself and her son in a car Saturday afternoon.

Adriane Grace Moss, 34, faces an abandoning or endangering a child charge. Police say they got a call around 4:52 p.m. for a welfare check on a 10-year-old boy locked in a truck that wasn’t running. According to an affidavit, his mother was passed out in the front seat.

“According to Lakeway Dispatch, the 10-year-old asked his mother to roll down the windows, while on a recorded 911 line, and she replied ‘no,'” the affidavit said. An officer headed to the scene said the temperature was 104° at the time.

When police arrived the woman got out and spoke to the officers. Both she and the boy had “sweaty and matted hair,” the affidavit said. The boy said he’d woken up in the car after it was parked, and that he’d been inside with the windows rolled up for about an hour.

Officers reported that the woman stumbled and smelled like alcohol when they spoke to her. She reportedly ignored officers’ questions, tried to get close to the boy and at one point told him “get out of my life,” according to the affidavit.

Moss bonded out of the Travis County Jail.

A number of incidents involving children left in hot cars happened in the past few weeks. An Austin woman was accused of leaving her 9-month-old granddaughter in a locked car on July 14 when she was shopping. The child is OK. In Houston, a 3-year-old died after being left in a hot day care van on July 19.
