My grass trimmer Auto Feed does not work. The lever seems real loose.Would replacing the Lever Item # 29 Part # 598435-00SV fix the problem. and if so how do you remove and replace the Lever?

The plug prong in the handle assembly on B&D GH600 elect. grass hog melted. Does the handle assembly come with a new plug already in it? Didn't see one separate in diagram or list.

The Black and Decker part number 90518524 Handle Assembly, does not include the Plug Prongs. You will need to order part number 244074-01 Wiring Harness and part number 244075-00 Lead Wire Assembly.

Without the part number 385022-03 Cover. The spring and spool and line come out of the upper housing as soon as you started the trimmer. It is a very essential part of the trimmer.

Question: Black & Decker GH600

I have a Black & Decker GH600. It swivels to become either a trimmer or an edger. The black latch that you push to swivel the lower part of the unit became pushed in and the trimmer/edger is not locking into place. I have taken it apart and looked at it. It does not appear broken, but it does seem as though something is missing......maybe a spring?? I have looked at the schematic online and I don't see anything, just the black "latch". Does anyone have any experience with this?

EDITED POST: I took pictures and compared them to the online schematic. There are 2 little arms that are missing on the back side of the push platform of my latch. So it IS broken. New part ordered! :D

The 598435-00SV should come out by pulling on it. You may have to pry it out. The to replace the new one just press it back in.

How to remove what is left of old guard assembly and install new guard assembly? Already have new assembly.

Hello,

Not ever worked on one of these trimmers before and looking at the parts diagram. It looks like there are three tabs at the back of the guard that might snap into the motor housing and one rectangular tab that would line it up with front of the motor housing. You might have to carefully pry whats left of the old guard off, then push the new one on. I can't see any screws holding the assembly to the housing.
