What are people using for batteries for their controllers ? I am changing batteries every 3-4 days, after gaming for only 3 or 4 hours each day.

Does plugging a gaming headset into the controller drain the batteries more quickly ?

Has anyone tried using rechargeable AAs like eneloop ?

I tried the rechargeable pack for my Xbox One controller and it only lasted a couple of months and then it stopped charging. What a waste of money.

Looking for the best rechargeable battery pack instead if buying tons of AA batteries. Thanks

I prefer AA batteries over the rechargeable built-in batteries. Any day I'll choose AA. If dualshock has an AA option I'll choose that.

Batteries degrade over time so if the lithium battery built-in starts to decay so does your playing experience. You'd have to charge more often.

If I am playing and the battery is low, I do not need to stop and charge the controller. I'll just slap on a new pair of rechargeable AAs and I'm good to go.

You can use your controller for a very very long time because of this. I had to replace dualshocks in the past because they can no longer hold a decent charge.

Literally the only advantage, if you can call it that, is with the battery pack you can charge via USB like with your phone, or if you have some kind of stand charger then you can just sit it on there.

But it's a debatable advantage as swapping out a pair of AAs takes seconds, maybe a few more seconds than plugging in a cable, but quicker if you have to get up to get the cable or get up to put it on a charger stand.

From what I can find though the battery pack is a fairly low capacity and despite being lithium-ion rather than NiMH, the one I had was pretty much useless within a year. It doesn't even last past 10 hours anymore.
