Aston the whaler on kaanapali beach reviews

Pros:received a corner room on the 9th floor. We had a one bedroom, with two full baths. Sliding patio doors and windows all along two walls plus the kitchen provided up close views of Black Rock and Kaanapali Beach. Largest balcony/lanai ran the full two lengths of the unit. Staff very friendly, easy parking under our building.

Cons:Though the kitchens and bathrooms were completely upgraded, it took forever for the water in the shower to get warm.

Comfortable bed. We paid to upgrade our room to ocean view. Our room faced the rear shopping center. Partial ocean view, partial mountain views but... Very Loud Commercial Air Conditioners could be heard from 6th floor balcony all night. Kitchenette in condo was convenient. Room decor was old /dated. Kitchenette was dated. We did not like resort fee of $177 for only 4 days (not included on package price) . Spa was broken on first day and then very packed with people incl kids rest of days. Pool area always busy with loud kids/adults. It was nice to walk to nearby Hotel/Resorts for coffee. Hotel was right on the beach but December storm weather made it unsafe to swim. Several expensive restaurants are within walking distance. Our flight with Hawaiin Air was cancelled on our last day of stay. Front staff was not helpful in finding or suggesting a new place to spend an extra night. They didn't even check to see if it was possible to stay. They seemed confused or didn't appear to care even though our flight was rescheduled to next day. Even though Hawaiin Air cancelled flight due to weather, other airlines were still flying during same time as our 3 PM flight with clear blue skies at airport. Plan to drive at least 45 mins to this hotel from Airport - or even longer commute when there are traffic delays as there is only one road two-way (single lane) as you head east towards Airport. High points: Safe area, comfortable bed. Lows: Front desk staff not helpful or friendly.

We have stayed here many times and the room and property were very nice. The heated pool and hot tub are important ammenities for us. The pool was not consistently warm. Very disappointing. did

The condo was great - we had everything we needed for staying in or going out. We liked that it was fairly quiet in the later evening as well.

Very nice room and property. The beach in front is sand and great for swimming. Right next to Whalers Village mall with excellent dining and shops. Short walk to Black Rock for great snorkeling and sawm with a turtle!! Only downside is no bar/restaurant at the pool or on property but many in a short walk. Would definitely come back here.

The room we stayed in was outdated but very clean. The view was fantastic. They had a great gym. There were several, very nice, covered lounge chairs all around the pool and outdoor area. The property boarders whalers village which was great. It was an easy 3 minute walk to all the shopping and restaurants. The parking at the hotel was free. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely be staying there again!

The room was clean and the grounds well kept. Great beach access. The pool was very enjoyable. Would have been nice to have a restaurant at the Hotel but there were plenty of options within walking distance.

Is Kaanapali worth visiting?

The Ka'anapali beach is beautiful but different. Kaanapali has three miles of white sand beaches and was once named America's best beach. While the beach isn't as large, and some may say the sand isn't as golden, the waves are much calmer, and it's easier and safer to enjoy a dip in the ocean, even with kids.

What is Kaanapali Beach known for?

One of Kāʻanapali Beach's most famous attractions is the daily cliff diving ceremony off the beach's northernmost cliffs known as Puʻu Kekaʻa, or Black Rock. Held every evening at sunset, a cliff diver lights the torches along the cliff, diving off Black Rock in a reenactment of a feat by Maui's revered King Kahekili.

When was the Whaler Kaanapali built?

As the “original” Condominium Resort on Kaanapali Beach constructed in 1975, The Whaler is known as another favorite among owners and guests. Directly adjacent to Whalers Village and just steps from the beach, this property is widely recognized for its sweeping views.

How many rooms does the Whaler Maui have?

There are a total of 359 individually owned condominiums at The Whaler on Kaanapali Beach consisting of studio, one bedroom and two bedroom floor plans. Garden view, ocean view, and ocean front categories are available. Each of our spacious, light and airy rentals has its own very large lanai (balcony).
