Air jordan 1 retro high black toe

In addition to the possible “Black Toe” Air Jordan 1 Low release, Jordan Brand may also be bringing back the original colorway in its high-top form.

Early rumors from @jfgrails on Instagram suggests that the “Black Toe” Air Jordan 1 High is on the schedule for a 2023 release. According to the account, the forthcoming drop is part of the brand’s so-called “Reimagined” series and will feature a vintage look much like this year’s version of the “Chicago” Jordan 1. The mockup photo shared by the account depicts the shoe featuring cracked leather uppers predominantly on the ankle collar, although it’s not confirmed if the retail pair will look this way.

The “Black Toe” Air Jordan 1 High debuted in 1985 and was last available in 2016.

There are no concrete release details available for this “Black Toe” Air Jordan 1 High Reimagined, but we’ll keep you updated with new developments in the months ahead.

Supplied by a premier sneaker marketplace dealing with unworn, already sold out, in demand rarities. Each product is rigorously inspected by experienced experts guaranteeing authenticity. Overshadowed by other original Air Jordan 1 colorways like “Bred”, “Chicago” and “Royal”, this “Black Toe” edition is no less important when it comes to the history of the legendary shoe. Worn on court by Michael Jordan during his rookie season, the Air Jordan 1 Black Toe features a similar look to the Chicago colorway, but takes away some of the red from the upper in favor of black on the eyestay and toe panels. This listing is for the 2016 release of the Black Toe Jordan 1, which disappeared from stock immediately wherever it was released. Grab a pair now before they disappear again.

Although Jordan Brand has been pumping energy into other silhouettes in Michael Jordan’s historic roster of signature sneakers, it can’t quit churning out Air Jordan 1 colorways. Reportedly high-profile collaborators like Travis Scott will move on from the 37-year-old design in 2023, but the NIKE, Inc. subsidiary won’t – at least not until it releases the model in a “Black Toe Reimagined” version.

While currently only a rumor from reliable sneaker leaker @jfgrails, it’d be naive to believe the Swoosh conglomerate isn’t trying to capitalize on the highly successful “Lost & Found” retro from mid-November; a similarly-“aged” Air Jordan 3 “White Cement” has already been confirmed as part of Jordan Brand’s Spring 2023 Retro Collection. A proper “Black Toe” reissue last took place in 2016, but handfuls of non-High iterations of number 23’s first signature basketball sneaker have saturated the market with a similar color-blocking since.

If rumors of an Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe Reimagined” are true, the pair is expected to boast the same “cracked” leather throughout the upper, with the most visible “wear” arriving at the collar. Midsoles will also likely don a slightly-yellowed finish to recreate a vintage aesthetic. It’s important to note that whatever ends up dropping (if anything at all) may follow a completely different concept given that the “Reimagined” series meant something different before the “Lost & Found” 1s. Nevertheless, a “Black Toe” retro will surely be warmly welcomed by the sneaker community-at-large.

No firm Nike SNKRS launch details have been disclosed by the Air Jordan team, but if the rumors are true, that’s likely to change as the new year’s holiday season inches closer.

With just over a month left in 2022, handfuls of more NIKE, Inc. products slated for the new year continue to surface. The latest?: An Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG featuring “University Blue” flair at the toe.

While an early mock-up of the pair depicts it with some similarity to the “Obsidian/University Blue” style that released in August 2019, the upcoming sneakers promise a shade of blue much closer to the University of North Carolina (UNC) friendly Air Jordan’s that’ve graced retail shelves since 1985. Furthermore, the rumored Air Jordan 1 is expected to boast the titular collegiate color at the toebox and outsole, design choices that if actualized, will further differentiate the shoe from previous releases. Panels around the forefoot, along the tongue and at the collar deliver “Black” contrast to the arrangement, harkening back to the “Black Toe” option that helped introduce Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker to the world 37 years ago.

Celebrating the shoe that started it all, here's a look at the lineage of Michael Jordan's first signature shoe — the Air Jordan 1.

Designed by Peter Moore, the Jordan 1 originally released from 1985 to 1986. Quite a few colorways of the model were produced, as well as a few different variations. Following its initial run in the 80s, the Jordan 1 jumpstarted the retro era in 1994, following Jordan's retirement from basketball. The shoe returned again in 2001, including the introduction of a Jumpman branded mid-top. It wasn't until 2008 that Jordan Brand started re-releasing the Jordan 1 with its original high cut.

Since then, the Jordan 1 High has had a relatively consistent presence in the market, as it's been featured in the 22/1 Collezione ‘Countdown’ Pack. the Doernbecher freestyle series and commemorated Jordan's Hall of Fame induction in 2009. In recent years, the shoe has enjoyed a heightened level of popularity behind the retro of the canvas-based Air Jordan 1 KO, Nike SB collaborations and the highly anticipated return of OG "Nike Air" branding. Jordan Brand has also been packaging the Jordan 1 in a retro box-inspired by the original 1985 design.

To keep you updated, here's a look at the history of the iconic sneaker, from its first release up to its most recent.

Why are Jordan 1s hard to find?

We can all agree that hype helps drive sneaker popularity and sales. The Jordan 1 is and has been one of the most hyped shoes out there, with celebrities and influencers seen rocking the sneakers to this day.
