This may be the low speed ABS activation that has plagued Chevy's and GM's. The ABS will activate while you are braking and get down to 5 mph or so. It has to do with corrosion building up under the Wheel Speed Sensors on the front wheel hubs, causing a bad signal to the ABS system. There are a number of posts on this, but basically, after checking the front wheel speed sensors, you can remove, clean the mounting surface and re-install. It started after last winter, i've checked the front wheel bearings and they seem tight no play, and no resistance. I've also removed the front sensors and they look good I cleaned them up with a soft clean rag and put them back in place but with no change. More recently the park brake light will come on sometimes (maybe 3 times in the last month). Just wondering if anyone has seen this or can point me in the right direction. At the same time brake light comes on ,however i do not seem to have any brake issues and braking is just fine. Just concerned that it might lead to bigger problem possibly. I am baffled!! I recently pulled the master cylinder apart and cleaned it out because of a clog. Ever since then the ABS and BRAKE lights come on simultaneously at random times.??? What would cause the ABS and brake light to come on?Four Reasons Your Anti-lock Brake System Light Can Come On
The four common reasons that typically cause this light to turn on include a malfunctioning ABS module, low levels in the fluid reservoir, broken wheel speed sensors, or the system is turned off.
What causes the ABS light to come on in a Chevy truck? The ABS light (usually yellow, amber or orange) should come on briefly every time you start your car as part of a system check. If the light stays on, that means something isn't working and the system has been shut down. With ABS, sensors mounted at each wheel monitor the speed at which the wheels are turning.
Can air in the brake line cause the ABS light to come on?A low level of fluid in the reservoir could prevent ABS from doing its job which can make the ABS light stay on. Too much air in the system is another probable cause of it.
