The FRam oil filter for the 2008 Ford F-150 5.4L is a part number PH2. This is a standard metal filter that screws onto the bottom of the engine and has a 22mm thread pitch. Every time that You change Your oil You should make sure to replace the filter as well. Running new oil through an old filter can cause it to pick up the contaminants that are in the filter and make the fresh oil d***y much faster. IAlso recommend that You only install the filter hand tight. The aluminum of the filter housing will expand and contract with the engine as it heat cycles and if it is screwed on too tight it may get seized on the bottom of the engine.

The exact oil filter model depends on the model of the vehicle and should be replaced with every other oil change, or 3,000-6,000 miles
