Get ready for yet another exciting season of Fortnite. Here's the date and time when Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5 starts.
Epic Games knows how to keep its popular battle royale alive, continually bringing new exciting content and features to Fortnite. These additions include a new map, points of interest, weapons, skins, and more. As a result, it's no surprise players keep returning to the battle royale game.
With Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4: Paradise in full swing, many players wonder what the next seasonal update might have in store. But more importantly, players are left with the burning question of when the current season will end and when Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 5 will start. Fortunately, we have the answer.

First, it's worth mentioning that Epic Games never reveal the official start and end date of each Fortnite season. Instead, we can only infer when the next season of Fortnite will release through the in-game Battle Pass or by insights from credible leakers.
That said, Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4: Paradise will end on 2nd December 2022, lasting roughly 76 days (or 2.5 months) from its initial release date. Therefore, Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5 will likely start on 3rd December 2022.
This Season's end date has been changed from the 3rd to the 2nd of December, you can see it in the Battle Pass menu at the bottom. We don't know why tho.

Like every major seasonal update, players can expect to experience server downtime, resulting in matchmaking being temporarily disabled and Fortnite servers not responding for several hours; this usually happens from about 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. UTC but may vary dramatically for any number of reasons.
However, once the server maintenance period is over, the next season of Fortnite will be live to play. Please note that Epic Games could change the start date and time of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5 at any moment; in this regard, we will update this article with the appropriate changes.

EpicThe rumblings were true. We are indeed about to move on to the next full chapter of Fortnite, and it’s now been confirmed when the Chapter 3 finale event will be which will kick off the arrival of Fortnite Chapter 4.
The date and time? The Chapter 3 event Fracture will be at 4 PM ET on December 3, 2022, just under three weeks from now. That’s a Saturday, and it’s likely the game will probably go offline for a spell, as tends to happen, and will launch Chapter 4 in the early hours of Sunday morning. It’s possible it could just go live that afternoon, but that seems somewhat less likely.
This imminent release date for Chapter 4 is a bit surprising, given that it makes Chapter 3 somewhat short in the grand scheme of Fortnite releases. Here are the past dates for Fortnite launches, and the gaps between them:
- Fortnite Chapter 1 – October 2017
- Fortnite Chapter 2 – October 2019 (24 months later)
- Fortnite Chapter 3 – December 2021 (26 months later)
- Fortnite Chapter 4 – December 2022 (12 months later)
So previously, the average length for a Chapter of Fortnite was two years, but Chapter 3 is only one year long. Why the change? We don’t know. Perhaps Epic has decided that they want to keep things even fresher more often, as new Chapters come with big finale events and the arrival of a new map. They are usually big surges in player population as people head to check out a totally new map, albeit most Chapters carry over a few old locations, even if the overall shape of the island changes.
As for the finale event, Fracture, these events tend to be something that destroys the old island in some capacity, but I guess we’ll have to see what the villains and heroes have in store for us this time. We are still with the Seven battling IO and others, though perhaps we’ll move on from that to a certain extent next season.
Fortnite Chapter 3 brought with it probably what has been one of Fortnite’s biggest successes with its no-build mode, which has gotten a whole lot of players back into the game, free from cranking 90s and with the ability to play it like a more traditional shooter. Some are joking that Fortnite is about to get a first person mode to compete with Warzone and Apex Legends next season, but I mean hey, anything’s possible (not seeing anything to actually support that, however).
A new Fortnite season is always something to behold, so you can bet I am blocking out that time in December to check out the new season. Looking forward to seeing what Epic’s got for us this time.
