Red runner pros and con can they infest

Everywhere Ive been reading say's that they need a high heat and humidity (but mostly heat) environment to breed unlike the notorious German/American sp. So unless you live in a hot high humidity environment, full blown infestation is not likely. There a very fast moving roach sp. which cant scale smooth surfaces and don't try to burrow into the sub like dubia's do, however due
to there small size and especially speed means escapee's if fallen on the floor during feeding will be common. The roaches hold the gut load longer then crickets.

Red runner pros and con can they infest
Pros:
They can't climb smooth surfaces.
They don't burrow at any age.
No odor if housed properly.
Easy to breed.
Always moving about.
Cons:
Adults are small compared to dubia roaches.
Some Ts won't eat them.
As far as infestation goes, its possible but unlikely. They would need a food source, dark area, temps
near 80° and mature age to breed.
I used to breed dubia, but switched to runners a few years ago. I control the colony size by reducing the temp. and culling the males. Started my colony with 400 3/8" juveniles and started seeing ootheca around 3 months later. Here are a couple of pictures of my colony. The enclosure is a reptile tank 18"X18"X36" with a homemade rack keeping the egg toppers in place. Bottom has 1/2" of topsoil for the ootheca to hatch out on. The colony is in the T room,
which stays in the 75°-78° temp range, tank heater rarely comes on.
