PES makes a supercharger for our 98 audi a4 2.8 litre 30 valve. Its called G2.

go to www.pes-tuning.com and follow the specs of your car.

AFTER THE SUPERCHARGER, THEIR ECU CHIP GOES VERY WELL WITH THE PES G2 SUPERCHARGER.

I think for that load of cash what you will pay for a PESS G2 you can swap in a 2.7 bit easily. I think that would be the best choice. AND F*** YOU V6 HATERS.

i was thinking bout charging mine too at one point, dont get me wrong it would be sick and ide put a big a** pully on it to make it sound like a fire truck. but untill they drop the price say 2gs i would much rather do the 2.7

You will never swap a 2.7 for under $3500 that the supercharger costs. Also you put smaller pulleys to make it boost more.

smaller supercharger pully does make more boost, or you could put a larger crank pully on it to do the same thing....my bad

^ lol, thats not going to be any cheaper. to correctly upgrade a turbo on a 1.8T you are going to spend somewhere in the neighborhood of $4,000

I have been told that doing the 2.7 swap is actually pretty cost effective when you look at the power gain. How much would it be to fully swap an s4 drivetrain if I were to piece it together my self?

I have the PES GEN 2 on my 01 avant. To look at it like just 100 extra hp is kind of remise. The torque delivery is radically changed. It comes on hard at very low rpms and does not stop till redline. Very different animal then stock. Will it compare to a stage III 2.7 twin turbo....no way. If you are due for a timing belt change then the GEN 2 is really a strait forward install. I love mine, but if a 2.7 twin turbo was really that easy a swap...well...

I think a supercharged 2.8 would bea great choice. I had one now drive a 1.8 stage 2. I think I would prefer a supercharged 2. Over this or even a k04'd a4. Real leather full power seats not to mention having an actual fifth gear not the retarded gear ratio of the 1.8(sorry fellow Turbo goers just my .02 take t ias you want) you can find a used PES kit for for 2 k with add onbparts everyonce and a while just be patient. Typed on phone on train sorry for errors

Hell when they are running right they start with a ton of torque and come on harder and harder till you accidentally bounce off the rev limiter. They so need a 7k redline.......

The piston can take more than 7000 RPM according to a base rule of the piston speed. The standard metallurgy of late 80's to mid 90's was 4000 ft/s. Newer RS4 have a piston speed of 5600+ thank to better alloys.
Since some 2.7T use the 2.8 head at past 7250 rpm, until valve float?, I'm quite confident they can take it.

However, I cannot find a sure source on the specific value of the piston speed. Audi use a security factor to prevent catastrophic failures. I cannot find the alloy the pistons where made of either... a manufacturer could then give us a sourced information.
