You know.. mine did the same thing when I purchased it. I tried to track it down, eventually gave up. I do not like messing around in the side the columns so I mounted/wired a momentary switch on the right side of the dash, next to the column. Within in easy reach, since I usually drive with one hand on the wheel and one hand on the stick it is as close now as it was using the center of the steering wheel.
Probably not the answer you wanted, but just an option.
Why is my horn not working?

A couple months ago my horn stopped working and I have been having trouble trying to fix it. It stopped working right after I got broken into. Whoever broke in had my fuse panel pulled out when I got back to my jeep. For a while my speedometer and everything on my dash was broke too, but that started working again. I know the horn relay is working because I replaced the fuse and I can hear it click when I try to honk. Does anyone know how I fix my horn?

you need more horn fluid....
on a serious note, check to see if the horn it self is still good. you might need to replace it. also check to see that no wires where burnt out, or shorted. ive seen wires melt due to break ins.

If you can hear the click then it sounds like your wiring and button is fine.. Might just be your actual horn like above states.
I just bought and installed a horn, wiring, and push button for the dash.
Pre-Owner took apart the Steering Column and after he was done the Horn didn't work as well as the high beams... so he got rid of the horn button and
wiring... it was a pain but it gave me a fun project.
Your basic low tone horn runs for near $20
Good Luck

1 prong is power, the other is ground. the factory horn grounds threw the bracket, the after market generic needs a supplied ground and power.
I don't know about the second idea... but if the wires are there I don't see why not.

the after market one can work. just may need to run a wire the the bolt that hold the horn on for ground.

Mine also stopped working just the other day after apparently sounding off on its own ( i was parked and standing just inside a doorway) Key was in the ignition. I pressed the steering wheel activator and it went out, NOW, no horn ( went out in traffic yesterday) and the steering activator is mushy (normally firm)
Is this some sort of electrical issue/fuse problem or something else???

The relay is on the right of the fuse box and do you have to have a constant source to the compomressor for it to work that ****s loud lol I just dont wanna blow up lol
